Wishing you all a Happy Gandhi Jayanti
We need to understand Gandhiji once again. For which we need to left Gandhism and understand Gandhiji. Gandhiji himself did not start Gandhism. It is we people started saying about Gandhism. Gandhi ji feared about it that people may start an ism after him.
Gandhiji did not like confrontation with anybody. He believes that if there was no enemy than transformation will be happen in many ways. This is not confrontation, this is awareness. He never used the words development, sustainability, women empowerment etc rather he focused on efforts and awareness. As some are saying about vaccin for Coronavirus. Vaccination is to take care. It is not a medicine to cure. Vaccination increase immunity. Both a person and society are benifitted from body strength. Gandhiji used to believe that change is a continuous process.
What is Gandhism?
There is need to accept some new things and left some old things. For which you should have the clearity of need.
Non violance and Satyagraha are principles of Gandhiji. Understand it and address your difficulties. If you think so, then it becomes a theory. Gandhi is one thing, Gandhism is another thing and Gandhibadi is one another thing. An Ism should not be related with any person.
For Gandhiji self realization is get involve with the society. Gandhiji was belived that involvement with society is a dharma. But there were no rituals, no ism or religion. Ism is an intelectual activity. We fells in ism as we belive that this will address our difficulties. I will do my own work. You do your work. One will get success by doing its own work. Swaraj is the rajya of our own mind. Ultimately responsibility is our own.
Do not start with Gandhism to understand Gandhiji. We commit wrong but we should not repit it again. Gandhiji also committed wrong but did not commit it again.
Gandhiji migrated for three times. Migration comes from necesity. First time he migrated to England as a student. Then he migrated to South Africa to earn livelihood and then to from South Africa to India as a social worker. He migrated because of necessasity, chance and by choice.
First 10 years of Gandhiji in South Africa is a life of a Satyarthi. Satyarthi is one who understands satya (truth). He was tryed to understand difficulties of the society. Why to choose – What to choose. Difficulties are of the society and not of an individual. Its redressal will come from the society and its will be a social redressal.
I and me Help from others is required to address any difficulties. Gandhiji realises truth and non violance from it. Non violance means not to be angry. One get angry, if he/she not gets his/her needs from someone or from society. But when one compaire, the things he/she had received from society is bigger than the things he/she not get from society. Gandhiji realises that he have to do social work. One has to understand the whole society as I and me. I + me + we + us Self realization comes through social service. Gandhiji did his work, get opinion from others and read books.
Satyagraha – place minimum demand. Why?
1. Rights and duties
2. Wants and meet
3. Owing and owning
4. Consumption and production
5. Accumulation and appropriation
Gandhiji’s thoughts can be reduced to four broad concepts:
1. Uniqueness – Everybody has own identities. People understand him/her by it. One has to understand one’s uniqueness. Culture, tradition, language
2. Local – Everybody has a local identities
3. Self – reliant
4. Non violance (Away from anger)
Today’s India link to Gandhiji view:
1. Diversity – Uniqueness
2. Democracy – Self reliant
3. Neighbourhood – Local
4. Choice – Non violence
Four important aspects of Gandhiji’s life which have relevance in everybody’s life would be:
1. Efforts and awareness have importance in our life
2. Necessity, chance and choice comes in everybody’s life
3. I and Me – We have to make balance in it
4. Satyarthi (Try to understand the happenings – what, where, when, whom) and Satyagrahi (Social Worker – why this is happening) comes in everybody’s life.
Individual and institutions plays important role in it.
